Marc Fournier

The Tenor

About

Born in 1997 in France, Marc entered the Paul Dukas Conservatory in Paris at the age of 14, where he studied for five years in the class of Didier Henry, first as a baritone, then as a tenor. This period marked his stage debut with his participation as a baritone reciter of JS Bach's Cantata BWV165 in 2015 and his taking on the role of Rolf in The Sound of Music in 2016. In September 2017, he joined the Conservatori Profesional del Liceu in Barcelona in the class of Marisa Roca, where he studied for a year and participated in masterclasses with Dolors Aldea, Eduard Gimenez and Carmen Bustamante.
 

In 2018 he joined the Royal Conservatory of Brussels for a Bachelor's degree, where he is currently completing his Master's degree, in the class of Marcel Vanaud, who was succeeded, after his departure, by Jean-François Rouchon in 2019, and benefits from the advice of Nicolas Bauchau and then Vincent Lièvre-Picard as assistants.

During these three years he participated in several projects, in particular the opera by John Adams, I was looking at the Ceiling and then I saw the Sky in the role of David at the Théâtre National de Bruxelles in 2018 and at the Opéra Royal de Liège in 2019 then in 2022 at the Théâtre de l'Athénée in Paris.

In 2019, he also sang the role of Remendado in Georges Bizet's opera Carmen at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi and at the Théâtre Royal de Mons under the direction of Philippe Gérard, then that of Don José in La tragédie de Carmen at the Brussels Parliament. In 2019, he joined the Academy of the Royal Opera of La Monnaie, of which he remained a member until 2022.

The year 2022 was marked by his integration into the Namur Chamber Choir with which he sang in Brahms's German Requiem , Rossini's Tancredi , recorded Franck's Hulda , Saint Saëns's Christmas Oratorio and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre's Céphale & Procris . He also joined the ranks of the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège as an additional chorister. Finally, in December 2022, he sang the solo part in Rossini's La Petite Messe Solennelle under the direction of Klaudia Zajac and Don José in Woluwe Saint-Pierre.
