About
Ludmilla Bouakkaz began her music studies at the Conservatoire du Centre de Paris (75001) where she took music theory, choir and harp lessons. In 2008, she met Sarah Koné and joined the Compagnie Sans Père, which in 2016 became the Maîtrise Populaire de l'Opéra Comique, where she obtained her 2nd cycle diploma with honors and her Cycle 3 in June 2021 with unanimous honors and congratulations from the Jury.
At the same time, she obtained a degree in Foreign Language and Civilization (LLCE) in English and continued her studies in a Master of Research LLCE at the University of La Sorbonne. She obtained her M1 with honors in September 2020 and her M2 in September 2021. A passionate and curious young artist, she made her debut in musical comedy productions at the Sylvia Montfort theater. She was heard in the role of Anita in West Side Story or Fantine in Les Misérables. Since 2016, she has performed annually on the stage of the Opéra Comique. First in the musicals Annie and My Fair Lady then in February 2019, she played her first opera role at the Salle Favart where she played the role of the Witch in the French version of Gretel and Hansel by Engelbert Humperdinck. In July 2018, she performed in Thyeste, directed by Thomas Jolly in the Cour d'Honneur of the Palais des Papes during the 72nd Avignon Festival. She participated in numerous Masterclasses led by Fusako Kondo, former singing teacher at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional, Agnès Terrier playwright, Franck Leguerinel, Kevin Amiel, Yoann Dubruque and she had the chance to meet and hear great singers such as Marianne Crebassa, Anne-Catherine Gilet, and Sabine Devieilhe rehearse. She began her specialized cycle in lyric singing at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris (CRR) in October 2020 in the class of Valérie Millot, where she expanded her repertoire by focusing in particular on Bel Canto. In April 2021, she sang the role of Fantasia in Offenbach's A Trip to the Moon, directed by Laurent Pelly, at the Opéra Comique, a role she will reprise in January 2023 during a revival of the same production. In August 2021, she participated in the first edition of the Castel Artes academy, created by Edwin Crossley Mercer, where she took classes with Julie Fuchs and Michelle Bradley, a singer at the MET. In May 2022, she sang the role of Lakmé in the eponymous opera in the lyric workshop of the 11th arrondissement conservatory. She entered the Bachelor of Lyric Singing at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels in September 2022 after obtaining her DEM unanimously with congratulations from the jury of the CRR of Paris in June 2022.
